Hello there, I'm Dhwani Patel, but let's keep things easy- you can call me 'D'. It's a bit of tongue twister, I know, but hey, simplicity is the name of the game. Looking forward to sharing stories, experiences and laughs with you throughout the semester, just as long as you remember the letter 'D'. I am an undergrad majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Animation. I'm from India, land rich in culture, music and traditions.
When I'm not dealing with the complex algorithms, you will find me sketching away in my book, stitching something new, watching movies/series or travelling somewhere unknown. As a programmer, I find unexpected inspiration in the world of animation. I always wanted to work which creates a fusion of art and technology, and I think Animation is the best choice I can make.
In this blog, I aim to share my journey of day1 of the class. Life has a way of throwing unexpected curveballs, and mine came when I had to rush to India on a very short notice due to my dad's medical emergency; just a day before the semester starts. He's admitted to ICU in a very critical state, seeing him like that breaks my heart so I decided to spend some time with my family. I was very excited for the first class, but the unpredictable circumstance brought me to India. Balancing hospital hours, long-distance learning, and the anticipation of my first class became a juggling act. It's challenging, but life has a funny way of teaching resilience. I admit that I've missed out on quite a few things during this. But, I'll be catching up with the missed bites. From classes to creative pursuits, I'll trace back everything I've temporarily left behind.
The biggest accomplishment I embarked was a Computer Science project in last semester called 'Defuse the Bomb'. The aim was to create a real bomb algorithm that worked using Raspberry Pi. Me and my Teammates worked as a team on this project for four months which resulted in a powerful presentation. However, my team members did not contact me on the day of presentation and presented themselves due to misconception of dates. I admit my mistake and will make sure that I never repeat again. Grateful to my continuous good grades which gave me an A as my final grade. This experience made me confident to be more responsible from then and for the rest of the year.
I'm a mix of fear and fancies, fun facts about me have different types .I'm scared of dogs and lizards. Choosing an outfit is time-consuming saga, a journey that often takes hours. Makeup? Not my cup of tea; I had rather apply sunblock. The gym calls me, but my lazy side usually wins. As a cinematic geek, my screentime unfolds in eight languages, from English to Thai, through movies/series/dramas.
